An impressive two-way performance from Kailey Meyer led the Omaha Central Eagles Varsity to a 9-0 win Monday over Lincoln High, as Meyer came up huge at the dish and on the rubber.
Meyer went a perfect 3-3 at the plate for the Omaha Central Eagles Varsity. She singled in the first, second, and fourth innings.
Meyer struck out 10 hitters en route to the the Omaha Central Eagles Varsity win. The Omaha Central Eagles Varsity’s pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only four hits.
Six runs in the opening three innings allowed the Omaha Central Eagles Varsity to easily put away Lincoln High. An RBI double by Makensey Pankers and an RBI single by Meyer in the first inning and a wild pitch and an RBI single by Meyer during the second inning helped the Omaha Central Eagles Varsity put some runs on the board early.
#29 was the game’s losing pitcher. She allowed eight runs in 4 2/3 innings, walked none and struck out six.
The Omaha Central Eagles Varsity tacked on another three runs in the fourth. Courtney Young singled, bringing home Estrella Haros to start the inning. That was followed up by Savanna Lakin’s single, scoring Leah Fries and Young.
