2020 Open House Letter

Dear Future Central High 9th Grader and Parent/Guardian:

Welcome to Central!  I hope Open House has treated you well.  My hope is that you consider Central High School and all it has to offer for the next four years of your life. You will be part of a great continuing tradition here at Central High School.  The mission of Central High soccer is to help our student-athletes develop the skills necessary to become the leaders and contributors of the 21st Century.

First and foremost, Central High School is committed to helping our student-athletes become successful in and out of the classroom.  The education we offer is second to none.  Your child will be prepared for college after receiving a wide array of academic courses taught by outstanding and highly qualified educators.  We will also place your son with an Academic Coach who will provide accountability and tutoring throughout his freshman year.  The service is also available throughout his student-athlete career if needed.  You can be sure that your son’s academic and athletic experience at Central will enhance his future opportunities.

I am proud and excited to announce that we have one of the highest team GPA at Central High School.  Many of our players are leaders on and off the field.  They have immersed themselves in the true meaning of what it takes to be a student-athlete. They are active in student-council, Academic Decathlon, National Honor Society, and many other extra-curricular activities.

Central High soccer is based on commitment, discipline, and most importantly, accountability. You get back from life exactly what you put into it. The goal of our soccer program is to challenge your son on a daily basis, learn perseverance, camaraderie, respect for others, delayed gratification and teamwork over individuality.  The lessons learned playing in a sport are as important as those taught in the classroom.  I believe the game of soccer will benefit your son in many ways and help him discover positive attributes that successful individuals possess.

It is an exciting time for the future of Central High soccer.  The last five years have brought us our first state tournament appearance in twenty years, consecutive winning seasons, and top ten rankings. We hope to build on this momentum and success that took place on and off the field. As an incoming 9th grader you will become an integral part of the future of our program.  Each freshman class is the cornerstone of what we build on. With this responsibility comes hard work and dedication on and off the field. There is no doubt that you will be up for the task!

In addition, we will have our own strength and conditioning program starting in mid-January. The program will last until the start of the spring season.  We will be meeting on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays in the Central weight room. If your son would like to attend, let me know. I have included my contact information below.

With those thoughts in mind, I have included our spring schedule in this letter.  If at any time you would like to attend a game please contact me.  Thank you for your valuable time. I’m looking forward to meeting you soon!
