The Central Eagles lost to another tough team on Friday in the defending state champion Burke Bulldogs, 17-34. As always, a loss is never fun, but good things were still accomplished. On offense Marcus Baptiste came up big with 6 catches for 54 yards and all at the opportune moment. This included one touchdown reception. Defensively there were a lot of contributors. Christian Simmons came up big with 2 of the 3 fumble recoveries, along with 2 solo and 2 assisted tackles. On special teams Jordan Diaz was a major asset being a pinpoint snapper and then covering to help corral the Burke punt returner. We were very impressed with our crowd at our first away game and expect the same if not more at this week’s game. Come out and support your Eagles as we take on the Omaha Bryan Bears at Bryan on Friday September 20 at 7:00pm. Go Eagles!!!
