Omaha Central Eagles Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 4-2 loss to Omaha Westside on Thursday. Omaha Westside scored on a groundout by Jaden Wells in the first inning.
Omaha Westside got things moving in the first inning. Wells grounded out, scoring one run.
Kyleigh Freeman got the win for Omaha Westside. She lasted seven innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out four.
Maddie Bohn took the loss for Omaha Central Eagles Varsity. She allowed five hits and four runs over six innings, striking out three.
Alyssa Campbell led Omaha Central Eagles Varsity with two hits in three at bats.
A controversial foul ball in the 6th sealed the fate of the Eagles, who couldn’t recover in the top of the 7th.
Freeman went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Omaha Westside in hits. Omaha Westside was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Alaina Mann made the most plays with seven.
